I am discussing the main differences between 3G and 4G. First discuss about 3G.

3G:

  • 3G stands for 3rd generation.
  • Has 14Mbps downlink and 5.8Mbps uplink speed.
  • Uses both circuit and packet switching.
  • 3G is slower than 4G.
  • Use both wired and wireless network to transfer data.

4G:

  • 4G stands for 4th generation.
  • Has 100Mbps speed for moving user and 1Gbps for stationary user. This speed is achieved via wired lans.
  • Use only packed switching.
  • Faster than 3G.
  • Combine 3G, gsm, wi-fi, bluetruth, voip.
  • Use only wireless network to transfer data.
