The microprocessor also knew as CPU is used in computers and smartphones. RAM, ROM is not built into microprocessor but are attached externally. The purpose of the microprocessor is to do processing of all the activities in the computer or smartphone. The examples of the microprocessor are core 2 duo, i3, i5 and i7.

The application of microcontroller is to perform actions of mechanical devices while the application of microprocessor is for defence systems, computation work and network communications.
