Pros and cons of iPad
Pros and cons of iPad

Some pros and cons of iPad are discussed below:-

Advantages of iPad

Good battery timing:

Since the launch of the first-generation iPad, the battery performance of the device is very good. The first generation of iPad comes with about 12000 mAh battery. In latest iPad ,the battery performance is good as well. If you compare the battery of the iPad with mac book then the iPad battery lasts longer. You can play videos, play high-end games and still the battery will be used for about 10 hours.

Doing daily tasks:

You can do all the daily tasks on your laptop on your iPad. For example, you can install productive apps like calendar, to-do list app, timer app, bookmark manager app, money manager app and spent your day in an organized way. Also, you can perform image editing, video editing, sending/receiving emails, doing video conferencing, sharing your thoughts on social media etc.

App development:

As there are fewer models of iPad so app developers can develop apps easily. If you compare this with android then there are a wider range of devices and developing apps for those devices is very difficult. The hardware of Apple products is of the same company so its performance also increases and managing device resources is easy in terms of coding.

Best for travelling:

If you are a traveller and you often move to different locations daily then the iPad is a highly portable device. You can place your device in a bag and its weight is also lighter than laptops. You can also use your device while travelling and take pictures of different locations also. You can perform office work on the iPad also while travelling.

Managing iPad is easy:

You can mute the notification in the device and can install the specific app which can increase your productivity. You can slide down from the left of the screen and get quick links by which your task is performed quickly. You can add and remove icons from the quick launch screen easily. iPad comes with a wide screen and it has a large onscreen keyboard by which you can type your text more quickly.

Secure apps:

The Apple store has millions of apps and each app is approved with a strict security level in mind. Most apps prices are below $5 and many apps are free to use also. If you compare this with the android play store then you will notice that some android apps are not fully secure and have low quality.

A lot of useful accessories:

Some accessories of iPad are very handy. For example, by iRig, you can attach your guitar with an iPad and have added additional effects to the sound of the guitar. Other examples are iCad. You can also attach a bank card reader with your iPad. If you want to use an iPad for your restaurant/hotel then you can use POS (Point of sale) apps for iPad.

Linking Apple devices:

You can link your iPad with other Apple devices easily. For example, you can link your iPad with Apple TV and enjoy the multimedia on a larger screen. Also, you can link with iPhone and share common Apple Cloud storage and share photos. You can link the iPad with Apple TV wirelessly and enjoy HDTV.

Disadvantages of iPad

Extra storage:

On iPad, you cannot get the SD card slot option and you are bound to use only the internal memory of the device. If you use multimedia in your device then the storage space of your device becomes full quickly.

Fewer apps than android:

There are fewer apps available in the Apple store than the android play store. Some apps are not present on the Apple store that are available on your android play store.

Customization:

You cannot customize the look of the iPad user interface. But you can change themes in android tablets and phones. All the iPads come with the almost same look and feel of icons on the screen. As there are different vendors of android so all the android tablets come with customize designs of android but iPads design is almost the same.

High cost:

The cost of iPad devices is expensive than that of android tablets. You also have to buy apps to use on your device. The accessories of the iPad are also expensive. For example, the external keyboard, touchpad, Apple pencil, card reader are expensive devices.

Legacy issue:

You cannot install apps on old iPads like iPad 1st generation, iPad 2, iPad 3 because these devices are no more supported. But if you compare this with android devices then you can still install and update apps from the play store. For example, you can still update YouTube on old android devices but you are not able to update the YouTube app on old iPad’s.

Wastage of time:

Some students misuse iPad as well. For example, they use iPad to play games all day and waste their study time by listening to music and spending their money on some entertainment apps.

Taking long notes:

If you are doing research then you cannot take longer notes on your iPad. This is because the note-taking apps only save short notes.

Internet restriction:

Most apps on iPad need an internet connection and you cannot use those apps offline. Some students and employees in office use the internet in wrong way also and waste their time also. They cannot concentrate on their work because of using iPad’s time-consuming apps.
